The Centre exhibited at Cranfield Manufacturing Week in September 2013.
The EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Through-life Engineering Services based at Cranfield University hosted two major manufacturing conferences taking place at the University that week. The University also showcased its manufacturing research and facilities by offering laboratory visits. Cranfield’s Precision Engineering Institute was included in the tours – a great opportunity for the EPSRC Centre in Ultra Precision to showcase its unique ultra precision research facilities, designed, manufactured and built by our own leading experts.
The 2nd Annual EPSRC Manufacturing the Future Conference took place 17-18 September 2013. This conference is sponsored by the EPSRC’s Manufacturing the Future Theme as part of their objective to develop the UK’s reputation for excellence in manufacturing research. EPSRC Centres for Innovative Manufacturing were represented at the event, as were earlier EPSRC and TSB sponsored activities in manufacturing research.
The 11th International Conference on Manufacturing Research (ICMR) took place 19-20 September. This conference is a major event for academics and industrialists engaged in manufacturing research and has been held annually in the UK since the late 1970s. The conference brings together a broad community of researchers who share a common goal; developing and managing the technologies and operations that are key to sustaining the success of manufacturing businesses.
