The Watch it Made® team hosted a workshop this week with year 8 pupils from Newnham Middle School, Bedford.
Pupils learned about the different stages of the watch making process and gained hands on experience using lathes, UV printers and engravers, before finally assembling their manufactured parts to produce their own customised watch.
The budding engineers in the group also had the opportunity to see some of the Precision Engineering Institute’s facilities in the laboratories and saw some of the larger diamond turning machines housed in the precision laboratory.
