Introduction to Roll-to-Roll Manufacturing
Roll-2-Roll (R2R) manufacturing combines traditional printing processes with highly advanced processes such as thin film vapour deposition and laser machining. This produces flexible large area substrates with highly specific functions e.g. organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) for lighting, photo voltaic (PV) and organic photo voltaic (OPV) modules, organic circuitry, printed electronics and thin film batteries.
The summer school is aimed at research students and practicing engineers. It will provide you with an understanding of the technology behind the fabrication and applications of flexible electronics and coated fibre products. It will also cover aspects of in-process metrology and defect detection as well as cleaning and repair of identified defects. Presentations will be delivered by industry and academic experts in the fields of R2R manufacturing and metrology.
The summer school is organised by the EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Advanced Metrology at the University of Huddersfield.
